Eucalyptus
2021
In this body of work, Leslie focuses on only the bark of Eucalyptus trees rather than the entirety of the forest.
Many colours can be found on the bark of these captivating trees. In these paintings, Leslie choses to emphasize certain colours more than others to create a balanced work.
This series has been informed and inspired by the beautiful forests surrounding Newcastle, Australia. Including Watagans and Barrington Tops National Parks, and Glenrock State Conservation Area.
